Run Across America - 13th September - Day 92
Today was my last full day in Pennsylvania before heading into the new State of New Jersey tomorrow. The roads again made my legs feel improved and stronger gearing towards the finish. There were still enough hills to make me work hard (CV) in order to complete the 40 miles. Today involved running through a few small cities, which again showed the cultural diversity between downtown (dirty, broken glass everywhere) whilst across the road at the end of downtown we then went through the posh area with clean roads, coffee shops and seemed like there was never any trouble in the area.
Today Matt biked over 920 miles with only 80 miles left before realising his objective, which is to bike 1000 miles. The smell of the fresh sea air is in the distance, but with hearing seagulls all the time it’s now not far before seeing the sea on the east coast.
I will be back to work in a few weeks and after everything I’ve been through this summer it’s going to be strange heading back into the real world. I hope people will appreciate what I’m trying to achieve and know that only a couple of hundred out of the thousands have completed such a big challenge.
The team and I are now starting to even pack our bags in order to get to New York City and then give back the RV that has been a pain in the arse. El Monte RV’s have been the worst and at the minute we have gone through two RV’s and this RV has had plenty of problems, but we have just got on with it as I couldn’t miss another day on the road, like in Utah.
Only two full days of running left and then a half-day into Central Park – 97 miles left.
Regards, Jackson and Team
