Run Across America - 12th September - Day 91

Another full day of running in Pennsylvania (40 miles) and the first place that I was heading towards was called Kutztown, which was a university town with a few bars, restaurants and other facilities that students need during their time there. It seemed a nice area and reminded me a bit of my Norwich, my home city. I’m just trying to enjoy the last few days with the team before we all head into the Big Apple on Sunday for the finish and with Natasha leaving straight after crossing the finish line it’s not long.

In a few days we are heading into the new state of New Jersey, which will be number 14 of 15 states on the list. Everyone is getting excited about seeing New York City, but to me I still have plenty of miles left to cover before even considering what I’m going to be doing in NYC. The roads have been easier on my legs and even through they are rolling hills the ones from only a week back were less kind and I was finding it hard to run all the time and had to run/walk a few mountain roads.

Even though I can’t wait to see my family and be back home with my two girls and the home comforts, I don’t think I’ll realise the effect a trip like this has on people, especially with people living out of each others pockets for months on end (that includes you Trevor). That is also anther thing I can’t wait to do and that’s all the team meeting up and having a meal without having to get up early morning to run 40 miles.

I’m hoping that the people from my home city of “Norwich” have been following my progress and have been proud of what a lad from a “Norwich City” can achieve? I am also hoping that they realise I’m trying to raise money for two local charities (Bryan Gunn Leukaemia Appeal and Radio Broadland Kidz).
