Run Across America - 9th August - Day 57
Today was a complete non running day as we had to drive to Kansas city and 1) Pick up Matt Chapman from the Kansas airport 2) Drop off Alex at the same airport as he was flying to Atlanta for a week, as his best friend (Roddy) is getting married. The day panned out nicely and once the pick up and drop off’s were made, Ben, Natasha, Matt and I went into Kansas City for a quick shop around. I went shopping around for a tattoo, so went looking on 42nd street, which was just off Broadway Avenue to a place called ‘Freaks’. Once we finally found the parlour Matt and I took a look inside whilst Natasha and Ben went looking at some clothes shops. I had already made my decision on a tattoo (Poppy’s name), but just had to get the tattoo artist to design Poppy’s name in a special style. The style was just right, so I decided that it was time to go under the needle. It took around 30 minutes for the completion and I had the artist even put a few lines of red within the name. The tattoo is on my left pectoral muscle, which means a lot as Poppy is my child and my life (picture on the gallery).
The second part of the day was much more stressful because I ended up worrying about the finances because the ‘Run across America’ credit card wouldn’t work at the café we ate at (not fun when denied). I hope that it will get sorted out in next few days because if all the money has gone then the trip will be over sooner than expected. There shouldn’t be an issue with the money because we have been under budget, but I do worry because New York means so much.
Tonight we are staying in a small City called Marysville at the local park with just the electric hook up for the night in the RV of course.
Artists of the day – No music today
