Run Across America - 25th August - Day 73

It was finally my half day of running (22 miles) which ended up around 10 miles from Indianapolis. The last three days of running (120 miles) has been tough especially running through Illinois with the heat being on my back throughout the whole day. Last night we stayed in Indianapolis so today my start destination was about 40 miles drive from the RV Park. Matt and I walked to the supermarket this morning so I could pick up some ice for a quick iced bath. The girl at the park reception said it was 5 minutes away to the supermarket, but it actually took 35 minutes to walk to. Once back finally at the RV Park I asked the girl if she knew how long 6 minutes was, but she said she thought we were driving.

Back to the afternoon half day session and I was still feeling tired as I didn’t have the best night’s sleep on the RV, but I knew once my legs were moving my blood would start flowing warming up my tired muscles. Matt joined me for the whole duration which I did in two parts (11 miles each). I put some good pace into the 11 mile sections and overall took me just over 3 and a half hour for the 22 miles. Please remember when reading this that I’ve already run for 2300 miles with only a few days rest.

Tonight we are staying at the same RV Park and watching a survival TV programme on the discovery channel. When watching adventurous programmes I think running across America is easy. Tomorrow we will be through Indianapolis and heading towards Dunreith.

News – I feeling tired so I’m going to bed (Night, Night)
