Run Across America - 23rd July - Day 40

It was an enjoyable day of running (if that’s possible) as I ran 37 miles to a place called Tabernash. That means tomorrow my feet will be running to an elevation of 11,307ft. The people of Colorado are lucky to have such a magical view of the mountain backgrounds. A few days ago I felt the road had defeated me and couldn’t see my body going much further, but the beautiful views around me, made me more determined to get to New York.

We have now travelled half way through Colorado and my friend Martin (who had just completed the run across America in June) says that once through Colorado there isn’t much else or better for picture perfect postcard images.

I left straight from the RV campsite today meaning the rest of the team got a few extra hours in bed as Ben didn’t have to drop me off at the run start point. I was listening to my iPod most of the day that kept my mind active with great bands like the Eagles and Abba. It does get hard mentally sometimes when you spend so much time on your own with no one to speak to, so tomorrow Alex and Natasha will be joining me for the trek to Berthoud Pass (Elevation 11,307ft).

Artist of the day – The Eagles
