Run Across America - 2nd July - Day 19
I only ran half a day of today as I changed my routine from 6 days on with 1 day off to 3 days on with just half a day off, so I’m running everyday instead. Today was only a 20 mile run, but it was still tough enough as my thighs still felt tight from the 41 miles I completed yesterday mostly uphill. Natasha joined me today for the whole duration, but she twisted her knee half way through and we had to take the last 10 miles easy. I had a couple of cars stop today asking if we were okay, and once I explained what we were doing they took all the run across America details.
We have stayed at a nice RV campsite for the past two nights; which meant Ben driving back to where I finished the day before, but the site is really nice and clean where they play a DVD in the evening. Last night we watched K9 – PI, which was very predictable but funny and tonight the movie was Trial and Error, but we left half way through to go to Pizza Hut across the road.
I have now covered over 500 miles, and I’m still feeling strong with running at around 6-7 miles an hour. I do expect some bad times during the run, but that’s why I have increased my mileage, so when the bad times arrive I will have days to play with.
I have placed a clip on You Tube tonight, which talks about my Mizuno trainers I have used for the first 500 miles. Check it out by clicking on: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=orDA8kqqv0A
Artist of the day – No music today (but Natasha does have a good singing voice)
