Run Across America - 28th June - Day 15

Now this is where the run is getting to a genuine contention for completing in New York around end of September 2007. The team are still working each other out and there is still a bit of tension sometimes, but we all know the job in hand and are getting on with it. Today was our last day in Las Vegas (I’m glad) as we can now move on and get through ‘hot’ Nevada and into Utah state. My legs are feeling strong and my feet have not had a blister for the last three days and I’m just hoping it stays that way.

The roads don’t change much so there is nothing to tell (I haven’t seen anything exciting today) apart from maybe in the middle of the desert there was one patch of grass, it just looked out of place (strange that being in a desert).

We ended up going go-karting tonight which was just outside the RV camping area. Natasha ended up winning but the karts were shocking (each going at different speeds), and it was only five minutes races, so she ended up winning. I had a terrible kart and got overtaken but never mind (I hate losing).

I saw my little Poppy on the webcam this morning and it was the best thing I could have asked for. I told Natasha I hate MSN (or when she is on it) but I am saying sorry as it got me to see my girls at home. I saw Poppy walk across the room, which I hadn’t seen before so it made my day seeing her and Annie smile (family are the most important thing as I now realise).

Tonight we all had a beer each as it’s so hot and off to bed for an early night as we are all hot and bothered with the heat, and I have to be up at 5am for my morning cup of tea and feet treated by Trevor.
