Run Across America - 27th June - Day 14

This is now the end of week two of running across America and I must admit that’s there has been plenty of good and some bad times but everyone is now settling down to the task in hand. The response has been good and I just hope people are donating towards my charities however small, but it’s needed. My mama keeps placing messages on the board (mama not everyone needs to know about our family).

Today Alex joined me for 21 miles of running back into Las Vegas and this is where we will stay the night again but under different circumstances as we are leaving early in morning to begin the run and get out of Nevada and hit Utah State. My feet are now beginning to harden up and I haven’t had a new blister for a few days. The trainers I wear (Mizuno) are the best I’ve worn for ankle support and the cushioning needed when pounding the roads.

I had a few bad days emotionally during the week but when you are on the road mostly on your own it gets lonely. A friend on mine (Alan Firth) has been so supportive in getting the directions, etc to me that he has given me the positive thoughts I need in order to finish in New York. I can’t wait to see my little Poppy, Annie, mama & Geoff and some sponsors (friends) who have provided me with the necessary funding in order to be able to complete this adventure.

The team are now going to hit the strip and get some dinner before heading back and having a good nights sleep. It might sound great that Jacko is in Las Vegas, but when you have a job to do it’s not like that (honestly).

Regards
