Run Across America - 26th June - Day 13

Another day another dollar as the saying goes. Alex and I set out from the motor home around 06:30am after breakfast. I was feeling a little tired from the previous days running and the argument that had occurred between Natasha and I the night before.

We are now only around 60 miles from Las Vegas, so I should arrive within the next two days onto the famous strip we had walked down only the other day after the Ricky Hatton fight at the Thomas and Mack Center. We are still keeping to the same Highway 95 route, so just have to be careful of the oncoming traffic and it should be okay. I’m still missing my family and it’s not nice being away for so long and not being able to see them or even hold them (Annie and Poppy I love you so much).

It started off a bad day as I was so tired from yesterday, but once I got moving with Alex the old magic came out and the fire was lit for another 36 miles of running through Nevada. Natasha and I have patched up our friendship again, and I hope that’s it for a while as it takes a lot out of your mentally when you have something on your mind.

Today was a strange day when it came to speaking to people. In the afternoon session Natasha and Trevor joined me on the road for a three mile warm up walk and within that time we were stopped twice by a policemen and a lady who were interested on why we were heading down the highway (they were both really nice and took the website address and said they will donate online).

Tonight I’m sitting in a truck park typing out this blog (I live the highlife), because tomorrow we will be back in Las Vegas staying in a RV site for the night. This trip has already had it’s highs and lows and I just hope that it stays stabilised as there is still a long way to go and I would hate the thought of someone leaving as everyone is now settling into their own routines. We are going to have a new arrival over the next month as Matt Chapman (one of the old set up) will be joining us for the finish once Trevor has gone back home. Matt will be taking the photos and video recording whilst everyone else keeps to their routine. Matt is going to my Poppy’s first birthday (9th July), which my girl Annie has organised a little party with my family and our friends so Matt is going to take plenty of pictures and bring them over for me to see.

Artist of the day – Bob Marley (relaxing)
